American Health Connection delivers appointment reminder messages and preventative healthcare messages to patients on behalf of healthcare providers.
To use this SMS program, Msg&Data Rates may apply. Charges are dependent on your service plan which may include fees from your carrier to send and receive text messages.
American Health Connection does not impose a separate charge for text alerts; however, message and data rates may apply depending on the terms and conditions of your mobile phone contract. You are solely responsible for all message and data charges that you incur. Please contact your mobile service provider about such charges.
How to opt-in
If your healthcare provider participates in American Health Connection appointment reminders and preventative healthcare messages, reply Y or YES to the OPT-IN message that you have received.
You will receive a confirmation message. Upon enrollment, you acknowledge that text alerts will be sent to the mobile phone number you replied from. Such alerts may include limited personal information such as your name and date/time of your appointment. Whoever has access to the mobile phone or carrier account will also be able to see this information.
Once you enroll, the frequency of text alerts we send to you will vary by your appointment activity, the services you receive or your transactions with your healthcare provider. You will typically receive text alerts when we have information for you about your upcoming appointments.
How to unsubscribe/opt-out
You can opt-out of all American Health Connection programs at any time by replying STOP to the reminder, opt-in or help message that you have received. After you submit a request to unsubscribe, you will receive one final text alert from American Health Connection confirming that you will no longer receive text alerts. No additional text alerts will be sent unless you re-activate your enrollment.
One SMS reminder is sent per appointment.
How to change your phone number once you are enrolled
Please call your facility’s central scheduling department and update your patient information. You will receive a new opt-in request message that you will need to reply to in order to subscribe.
To request support at any time, reply HELP to any message that you have received from American Health Connection.
American Health Connection’s top priority is the privacy of our users. The following is provided to address any concerns you may have.
- American Health Connection will never, under any circumstances, sell or distribute your cell phone number to third parties or American Health Connection clients for whom you have not approved.
- American Health Connection will never directly market to you any services for which you have not opted in, either by cell phone, text message or email.
- American Health Connection will never distribute any personal information about you, including your phone number, name, billing information or any other piece of identifying information.
